Floater Coach - Hallie Carter

Hallie has been with Strive since 2019, specifically as our 18s Head Coach. We are excited to have Hallie return to Strive as a floater coach!

Hallie fell in love with volleyball as an 8-year-old in Southern California and has never looked back. Over the years, she played for a handful of clubs and traveled all over the country competing at nearly every level in Junior Olympic competitions and qualifiers alike. She also played 4 years at Edison High School in her hometown of Huntington Beach, CA, and was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2010. From there, she journeyed out to Baltimore where she was a 4-year starter at UMBC and served as captain for her junior and senior seasons. She graduated in 2014 with her BS in Environmental Science, and far more "America East Conference Runner Up" trophies than a highly-competitive person would like.

Hallie has been coaching off and on for the past 11 years at clinics, camps, and local Baltimore based clubs (previously with Maryland Juniors and Firebird Volleyball Club). Throughout her career, she has played every single position on the floor and brings the same holistic, well-rounded foundation to her coaching style. She enjoys sharing her love and knowledge of the game with anyone and everyone she meets, and is looking forward to diving back into things with Strive this year.

When she's not coaching, Hallie plays as often as her schedule (and her body) allows her to, whether that's Coed 6s league, P4K tournaments, grass doubles in the summer, or even, begrudgingly, beach doubles. Most of the time though, you can find her putting that degree to good use as a Conservation Technician with the National Aquarium. As a part of the Field Conservation team, she works within the community to restore and protect habitats right here in the Chesapeake Bay.

Her previous coach experience comes from guest coaching for her high school and college programs during the summer months.

Laurainne began her Strive career in 2019 as a floater coach and transitioned into the role of assistant from 2020-2022. She also has experience coaching at the Division III NCAA level as she was an assistant coach at McDaniel College in 2021 and 2022.
