A wonderful woman named Sally Barcus passed away on 3/28/19 after a courageous battle with cancer. She was incredibly involved in the volleyball community and instrumental in running MD Au Volleyball Club.

In memory of Sally, the Board for MD Au Volleyball Club has generously decided to donate money to Strive which will go towards helping to fund our player scholarship program for the 2019-2020 season. MD Au quotes, "Specifically, we wanted to help get younger people to play and enjoy the game of volleyball as much as Sally did."

A huge thank you to MD Au for remembering Sally in such a special way!

About Strive's Scholarship Program: One season of club at Strive costs $2,850. For some, the opportunity to play club is not possible without the financial support of earning one of our Strive scholarships. Our scholarships have helped players experience the joys of being a part of an organized team as well as be recruited to play in college.

Each team has up to two partial scholarships that can be awarded to players who demonstrate need. Scholarships have the ability to be combined and given to a single player. All scholarships require the player's family to demonstrate their need.

We are incredibly proud of our three seniors in the club and their recent college commitments!

Shannon Taylor will be attending Howard Community College on a scholarship by the Howard County Fire Department to receive a degree in paramedics. She will continue playing volleyball on the varsity team.

Danielle Jefferson will be attending Wake Forest University and plans to pursue her undergraduate studies in biology. She will be on the pre-med track.

Makenna Burns will be attending Clark Atlanta University where she will be studying business administration. She will also continue playing volleyball on the varsity team.
